This Web site is devoted to the finest quality wooden model boats. The model boats on these pages are made from the finest Maine lumber, including bass wood, birch and Maine pine. The kits include all the instructions and parts, stainless & brass wire, cast fittings, full size plans and simple instructions, but no plastic.

For more than 20 years, the owner -- Ted Stinson -- has proudly manufactured wooden trains, planes, and boat kits made from Maine lumber. Stinson has been steadfast in using quality wood when many businesses have switched to plastics. The designs are authentic and superior craftsmanship are the reason why so many families invest in these boat kits.

Wooden Model Boat Kit also offers finished models. The models, like the boat kits, are also made from the finest Maine lumber, including bass wood, birch and Maine pine.

Our first model boat kit, for a radio controlled model sailboat, was introduced in 1972. Today, we manufacture more than 100 different kits which are offered to the public under various trade names.
